The Women's Foundation of Minnesota (WFM) values and protects the privacy of its donors and constituents. We safeguard your choice not to have your personal information shared with others.
We will not use, sell, or exchange your mailing or email addresses with others without your consent, except as provided in this Privacy Policy. We occasionally make portions of our donor lists available to funders when requested by institutional grant applications or when required by law (990). If donors request to be listed as anonymous, we do not share identifying information except when required by law (990). To be listed as anonymous, contact the Advancement database manager at 612-337-5010.
How Donor Information Is Collected and Used:
WFM collects donor information when it is submitted with a gift, event registration, or survey; when it is shared in an email with a WFM staff member; when someone signs up for email updates via our website; or in a conversation over the phone or in-person with a WFM staff member.
WFM uses donor information to create lists for sending mailed and digital communications: email updates, solicitations, and event invites. We use donor biographical and giving information to create internal budgets and other reports for board and staff review, and for reporting requirements as required by grant agreements with other institutions. To update your information, please contact the database manager at 612-337-5010.
Type and Uses of Information We Collect:
The WFM website includes several forms and other options to communicate with us and provide us information about yourself. Unless otherwise indicated, the information we request is optional, but you may not be able to participate in programs or receive information you request without providing us the required information. The information you provide in our various forms is used for the purposes indicated by the forms. For example, filling out a contact form to receive a newsletter may result in you receiving newsletters from us; signing up to be a financial donor or participation in our fundraising events may add you to our donor lists and may result in communications related to your donation, public acknowledgment of your donation depending on your selected preferences for recognition, fundraising events, donation related requests, and other donor related activities and opportunities.
Similarly, the WFM website includes contact information such as email addresses for various purposes and providing us information about you or others may result in our using this contact information related to those purposes and others related to your communications with us. If you are asked to provide us or otherwise choose to provide us information about other people, you must have consent from those individuals or other authority to provide such information to us.
Types of information collected include biographical information; relationships (including employment information); giving and volunteer history with WFM (including participation on boards and committees, interactions with WFM solicitors, staff, and contractors, WFM events attended); and wealth ratings.
All credit card and bank account information are encrypted in our database. Personal, identifiable information that can be captured, which is encrypted, includes bank account and credit card numbers. Our computers, donor database, financial database, and grantee database are all password-protected and encrypted where necessary.
Sharing Your Information:
In general, the information you provide will be used to support your relationship with us and to enhance and improve our organization, mission, and services.
We may engage third-party service providers, consultants, and independent contractors to perform functions and provide services for WFM. We may share the information we collect with these service providers so that they can perform services in relation to authorized and approved gift planning communication,
